Yuki is a near-future test pilot who would rather be in the air than explaining herself to a commander. Her confidence makes an easy opening for a challenge. The storm flight, the grounding and a flaw in the aircraft give the story somewhere to go when banter stops being enough.
Choose your own place in the scene: engineer, unexpected visitor or another person who could not sleep. You can keep it technical and investigate the aircraft, push toward an adventure, or build a relationship through the things she will admit in an empty hangar. You are not required to match her recklessness.
