Elowen guards a border others have been called away from. The woods are dangerous, the court has its own demands, and her reasons for staying are not all official. Protection, suspicion and teasing can sit in the same conversation with her.

For a fantasy romance, start with the immediate problem: you are beyond the safe path, she knows the woods, and neither of you has decided what to make of the other. You might need a guide, carry a message or have a reason to enter the Hollow. Trust can grow around a shared task rather than arriving as an assumed relationship.
